Settle for Peace in Ukraine, or it will just get worse
In the first year of the war and up to Dec 2022, the Ukraine military was at its strongest and had the most Nato weapons. The US and Europe had donated over $100 Billion of funds and weapons to Ukraine. Nontheless, even at their height of military strength, they were unable to regain any lost territory, and from then on Ukraine has been loosing more and more territory and over 100 thousand dead soldiers.
Therefore, what are the realistic chances that Ukraine will stop loosing, even if they receive some more money and weapons?
The chances are little to None.
Thus, if Ukraine is realistically going to continue to lose more and more territory and soldiers, then doesn't it make logical sense to accept Russia's terms for a permanent peace? ...since there are no better alternatives?
So what are the Russian terms that the US and Ukraine don't want to accept?
1. Immediate new democratic elections in Ukraine, without banning the political parties that want peace, and a denazification of the Ukrainian Secret Service.
2. A limit on Nato weapons in Ukraine and no long-range missiles capable of hitting Russia, plus an agreement to not become a Nato member.
.... Regarding Ukraine security, Putin is alright if Ukraine gets Security Defense agreements from other nations. Putin would have no practical way to stop that anyways.
Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov has stated some other end of war terms:
... Guarantees against NATO and European threats to Russia security, with Russian guarantees to not expand west.
... International recognition of Crimea and the four eastern and southern Ukrainian regions now governed by Russia, and Ukraine must withdraw all military forces from those Russian speaking providences.
.. Lifting the economic sanctions on Russia and unfreezing Russian assets in Europe.
To remind the half asleep media, the US Top General, Mark Milley, stated in numerous talks in Nov 2022, that from a military perspective Ukraine should negotiate for ending the war because "they have little chance of regaining any of their lost territory." His statements can be found in 3 mainstream news sources... look it up.
...And that was stated over 2 years ago. The situation is much worse now. As it was, Biden ignored the general's realistic assesments and told Milley to zip it up. So Now, the only realistic action to take is to accept the terms for peace. Ukraine lost the Russian-speaking providences (including Crimea) to Russia.
Maybe you and I don't like that, but it's just the facts.
