Are We at War with Russia?
If the US, UK, Germany and Poland have been proactively supplying the weapons and the money, and training soldiers to war against Russia; then...
– Are they not At War with Russia?
If my country (US, UK, Germany, France, or Poland) is 100% paying for soldiers and generals to war against Russia, and are supplying all the weapons, missiles, jets, tanks, and ammo used to war against Russia, then...
– Are we not At War with Russia?
What we are doing in Ukraine is basically akin to Hiring Mercenaries, training them and supplying them with weapons-to-kill, in order to war against Russia and kill Russian soldiers. We are handing men lumps of money to fight the Russians and to destroy portions of the Russian military with the weapons we give them to use. So if we hire the soldiers (pay them to fight), and we provide them the weapons (to kill), then...
– Are we not At War with Russia?
Are we not merely 'using' these paid soldiers to do the work of this war, using the weapons (tools) we give them? Given that we (the US, UK, Germany, Poland, and some others) are paying all the soldiers ('our workers') and supplying all the weapons ('the needed tools') for this job (to defeat Russia), then...
– Are we not At War with Russia?
It sure looks to me that we are at war. But then, did we the citizens approve this? Were we consulted at all? Did our democratically elected congress and parliaments give their Approval of this? You mean that We All have been put into Danger by being At War with Russia – and You (our government leaders) did this without even any real public or media debate?
And what are talking about here? We are talking about being at War with Russia... one of the largest militaries in the world and one of the largest nuclear superpowers. This no small thing. It's a Very Big Deal. And it's a very Dangerous choice. This not a “Cold War”; it is a Hot War... and it could get even hotter still ...Unless we Stop this insanity and sit down at a Peace Table to negotiate some sort of peace settlement, asap.
And what kind of world do we all want to live in?
What is the future we envision?
Constant fighting and war between nations?
Constant killing and destruction of land and planet?
Or making peace and building peaceful relations among nations?
Let's have more Peace-building — Not war-building,
Real Diplomacy — Not weapons and war.
Sure, one could maintain closed eyes to this danger (to all of us), and just believe that our only purpose in this war is to help Ukraine fight the evil Russians and can get back some territory, and stop the Russians from invading all of Europe and subjugating us all to slaves, etc. (depending on how imaginative you get). So perhaps you think this death destructive war is worth it... that it's worth escalating into a larger war and into a world economic disaster. But Really??
Is this war truly 'worth' the Costs and the Risks?
— Is there 'that much' to really gain by continuing this war?
— Isn't the Cost (human & economic) and the Dangers and Risks 'far too much' to justify the prolonging of this war? (rather than settle for a peace compromise)?
Would a peace compromise be so bad, that it is worth prolonging (or Escalating!) this war any further? – and doing so with a recognition that the odds of actually winning (or gaining much) are extremely low; as so many military experts have said that it is “very unlikely” for Ukraine to 'actually win' or even to regain lost territory.
People and governments will have to finally realize that the Ukraine war is a failed project, and its planned objectives – to "weaken Russia" and for Ukraine to take back territory – have literally backfired. All of those objectives and plans have literally Failed!
And what were the territories that Ukraine sought to take back? (for which this whole war was originally about, and for which hundreds of thousands have died). – They sought to take back control of the Crimean peninsula and the eastern independent republics bordering Russia (...the size of 2 small counties) which had 'seceded' from the Ukrainian government after the eastern donbas party and president were overthrown in 2014 by pro-EU and far-right nationalist protesters. And to note is that both Crimea and the eastern secessionist counties were populated mostly by Russian related people and businesses and they had always voted overwhelmingly for a Russian friendly government (as all those areas did in 2010, electing the president and party that was overthrown in 2014 by their political opponents who then came into power) – (so it's reasonable to understand that these areas did now want to be governed by those who had just overthrown their chosen-elected president and party).
So to repeat, the Ukraine War is ‘a failed project’. But the failing planners of this war (the US, UK, and the Ukrainian nationalist government) are Still Trying (and trying to make up for their failures). In other words, those failures (our “leaders” and those Ukrainian leaders) are Still at it ! ...and Still failing! These failure decision-makers are continuing to promote their failed project! ...and in so doing, Risking more lives, killing more people, and leading us all into a massive escalated global war.
Why are we letting them do this?
Also to add...
For many months, the US and Nato have been training Ukrainian soldiers and mercenaries for a 'counter-offensive' and training the Ukrainians on using the newly supplied Nato weapons, missiles and tanks. Now Ukraine has reported that the troops and weapons are ready and set into positions, and just waiting for the mud to dry enough for tank movement, and to some extent their counter-offensive already began a few weeks ago. However, Zelensky and some generals said that they believe more weapons are needed. So is this a stalling by Ukraine, or do the generals recognise that they will get crushed and cannot possibly win? (which is what most military thinkers now believe).
So, if the West keeps promoting the war and encouraging Ukraine to launch a counter-offensive (in the dim hope that they might succeed in regaining some territory) – then, are we not encouraging more Ukrainians to be killed in battle?
(rather than encourage them to negotiate for peace).
